After a short sail from the hot springs, we docked, then did nothing.  Wonderful!   Got the bicycles out, oiled them, and went to collect the new compass for the autopilot at Sitka Electronics.

Jane's log:

"Managed to get a short sail in for about a half hour or so with the jib up as we ran into Sitka.

"Spotted a group of Rhinoceros Auklets as we left Hot Springs Bay.  The fishing boats in Sitka Sound looked like hordes of ants: incredible how many boats are out there!

"Picked up the new compass and had a quick tour of Sitka.  The cathedral is amazing: it is a completely rebuilt replica of the original, which burned to the ground in 1966, and contains most of the original contents .  It's amazing to see how much the townspeople salvaged in twenty minutes!"
