We updated the web site at Jeff Parker's Computer Center.  Then we went to the hardware store to get some materials to install the new compass.  They didn't sell lumber, but invited us to dismember a palette out back, and even lent us the hammer to do the job.  The palette was very well-built: I broke the hammer!  They didn't mind, and one of the guys came out with a crowbar to finish the job.

[We installed new compass, at the waterline, compromising between as far away from the engine as possible and as close to the centre of the boat as possible.  The previous version had been mounted on the mast below the first spreader, which caused a lot of wander in rolling seas ...]
