Auke Bay (Juneau)

Jane's log:

"Went into Juneau to get the web site updated at Soapy's.   Took the tram to Mount Robert and got all the photos developed."

The tram ride was breathtaking. At the top we went for a short walk, which afforded us a view of Juneau, Douglas Island, and the Gastineau Channel. Below us the cruise ships were tiny - it was like looking down at toy boats in a bathtub from the top of a stepladder (this assumes that you have enough headroom in your bathroom to get that high. It would have to be an older home, with 20-foot ceilings, not the 12-foot kind; you would have to stand on the very top of the stepladder, ignoring all warnings against such action, thereby foregoing any possible legal action in the event of an accident; the boats would have to be the kind you get sometimes in the bottom of cereals you shouldn't be buying if you want to stay healthy ...)
