Farrant Island is a beautiful large lagoon: we took Ching ashore.  It was  a challenge to get in, but tomorrow we get to do it at zero tide!

Jane's log:

"Motored down the last of Principe Channel in light winds; some Dall porpoises passed us en route.

"Lots of jumping fish but we didn't put the line down.  We were a little early for Peter Narrows (the current can run at 7 knots) but it looked OK, so we made our way in Farrant Island Lagoon.

"A wonderful spot.  Ching enjoyed a trip ashore and was very interested in the Canada geese.  Spotted bear droppings (old) and the shell of a crab eaten by a bird on shore.  We dropped the crab trap, maybe we'll have luck: we've heard the crabbing is good here."
