Jane's log:

"Still raining, and although the pressure is rising sharply there is no sign of clearing on the forecast - so we decided to give Queen Sound a miss and head towards Ocean Falls to get our winter jobs sorted out.

"We came down the reset of Mathieson Channel and out into Millbank Sound.   The swells are still here from the gales over the last week, but the wind is calm.   We came through Reid Passage (a smoother route) where there was a group of cormorants on Munster Rocks.

"With the swell behind us we left Loony Island astern, and came into Seaforth Channel.

"We got hailed by 'The Queen of the North', one of the big BC Ferry ships, asking if we were in Irish vessel!

"Blue skies at last!!

"Gunboat Lagoon is a really quiet anchorage.  We had a great dinghy trip into the lagoon but the tide was too low to go through the rapids.  Ching came along at the last minute!!  Lots of kingfishers ..."
