"Topped up the engine oil and transmission fluid.
"Crossed in front of 'Dawn Princess' (P&O cruise ship) with 3 miles to spare.
We replied to a southbound sailboat hail, but got no response. It may not
have been them hailing us, as the reception wasn't that clear.
"Headed to Pruth Bay via Nalu Passage, Ward Channel and across the Hakai Passage
to wait out the SE storm forecast.
"Spotted some blow holes off the Breaker Group of islands.
"The resort reminded me of an Indonesian beach resort, with spruce trees instead
of palms.
"We had one of our best raven encounters on the walk to the west beach: lots of
calls and flight sounds. Incredible!
There were sandpipers and gulls feeding on the beach. I had a great swim,
and did some body surfing. The storm hasn't hit here yet, and the sun is still
shining.
"We had a great meal onshore at the Hakai
Beach Resort. The chef even gave me a special meal; we met Terry and Reften and
son from California. Back on the boat at 11:00, wined and dined! With the
great food, wine, and Baileys, we felt we more than got our money's worth."
