This feels wild, like the edge of the world! The entrance is very hard to
find in the swell: it turns out that the light marking the entrance (not lit in the
daytime) is mounted on a structure exactly the same colour as the background!!
There is kelp everywhere: the sea otters would love this place ...
On the way here, we saw the Neu Amsterdam, a humongous cruise ship.
Jane's log:
"Motored out of Prince Rupert. The autopilot worked on nav for 20 minutes. Had the
current with us all the way.
"Passed the Neu Amsterdam in Browning Entrance.
"It took a while to spot the Larsen Harbour light: not a great idea to have gray
scaffolding against gray rock!!
"We picked up a mooring: the bay was empty. Lots of birdlife.
"We found a lot of water in the V-berth when we started to get ready for Nathalie.
Some, we think, came through the same way as the flood in the port v-berth locker
(possible a slightly open hatch); the rest we think may be from the chain locker or
possibly the bow thruster. We didnt empty the chain locker for ages along the west
coast."
