Farewell dinner with Nathalie: had the ling cod. Delicious ...
"We had a great few days in QCI after the park, reading, relaxing, and updating
the web site. On Thursday and Friday we stayed at the cabin (what a wonderful spot!)
and with the weather so good, I was able to swim every day.
"We took a walk to the vet with Ching's sample, and came back by the beach with a
few months' supply of steroids for her (the vet has diagnosed asthma).
"We called in on Nathalie's friends Barbara and Noel and had a beer in the tree
house (a hollowed-out tree!). Back at the dock Charlotte and Terry came by after a
successful fishing trip, and gave us a lovely piece of ling cod and a red snapper.
"It was hard to leave the dock after a week: we had really adjusted to the pace.
But we need to leave someday! Contigo, the boat rafted to us, left on Monday,
leaving me their bread recipe: luckily, as the City Centre bread delivery disappeared in
transit on Monday!
"We all drank from St Mary's spring (including Ching) so hopefully we will all be
back to finish our round the world trip. I am already looking forward to the Hawaii
- Sitka - Vancouver leg, and the leisurely trip back down the west coasts of SE Alaska,
QCI, and Vancouver Island."
